چکیده

In this thesis I present the concept of a guided dynamical system, and then I exploit this idea to solve various problems in functional equations and partial differential equations. The results presented here are in a sense a sequel to a series of papers by B. Paneah published in the years 1997-2004. The last chapter in this work is an introduction containing an overview of this work and a comparison between known and new results. In the first chapter I shall first explain what a guided dynamical system is, introducing all notations and definitions to be used in the later chapters. In the second chapter I will use guided dynamical systems to study functional equations which have the form

0 N ov 2 00 7 Use of Complex Lie Symmetries for Linearization of Systems of Differential Equations - II : Partial Differential Equations

The linearization of complex ordinary differential equations is studied by extending Lie’s criteria for linearizability to complex functions of complex variables. It is shown that the linearization of complex ordinary differential equations implies the linearizability of systems of partial differential equations corresponding to those complex ordinary differential equations. The invertible comp...

Fractional dynamical systems: A fresh view on the local qualitative theorems

The aim of this work is to describe the qualitative behavior of the solution set of a given system of fractional differential equations and limiting behavior of the dynamical system or flow defined by the system of fractional differential equations. In order to achieve this goal, it is first necessary to develop the local theory for fractional nonlinear systems. This is done by the extension of...

Among the properties of systems of analytical partial differential equations (PDEs) which can be studied without explicit integration there are two important ones: the question of their compatibility and the problem of posing of an initial-value problem (Cauchy problem), providing the existence and the uniqueness of an analytical solution. Both of these problems are crucial for the correct form...

We describe a method to model nonlinear dynamical systems using periodic solutions of delay-differential equations. We show that any finitetime trajectory of a nonlinear dynamical system can be loaded approximately into the initial condition of a linear delay-differential system. It is further shown that the initial condition can be extended to a periodic solution of the delay-differential syst...

N ov 2 00 8 LAGRANGIAN STRUCTURES FOR THE STOKES , NAVIER - STOKES AND EULER EQUATIONS by Jacky Cresson & Sébastien Darses

— We prove that the Navier-Stokes, the Euler and the Stokes equations admit a Lagrangian structure using the stochastic embedding of Lagrangian systems. These equations coincide with extremals of an explicit stochastic Lagrangian functional, i.e. they are stochastic Lagrangian systems in the sense of [6].
